Four Brunswick School baseball players earned 2024 All-NEPSAC honors after producing outstanding seasons on the diamond during the spring season.

Jerry Guzman, who graduated from Brunswick last month, received All-NESPAC recognition. Guzman was the Bruins’ starting catcher, a position he excelled at. He also provided effective pitching relief on the mound and aided Brunswick in the infield.

Along with his defense behind the plate, in the field and pitching ability, Guzman helped ignite Brunswick’s lineup from the middle of the order. Guzman also provided great leadership to the Bruins’ successful squad, as he served as one of the team’s captains.

Connor Jones, who recently concluded his junior year at Brunswick, earned All-NEPSAC accolades. Jones provided plenty of clutch hits from the No. 1 spot in the batting order, while showcasing a strong glove as the Bruins’ starting center fielder.

Jones began his 2024 season in style this past March. He hit a bases-clearing three-run double with the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh inning, giving Brunswick a 6–5 walk-off season-opening win against Citius Prep.

That game-winning hit was a prelude of what was to come for Jones, who was a consistent hitter all season, while impressively patrolling center field.

Jackson Shepelsky, who also recently concluded his junior year, received All-NEPSAC Honorable Mention recognition. Shepelsky provided a slick, steady glove at third base and was one of the Bruins’ frontline starting pitchers, along with providing leadership as a captain.

He also was a force in the lineup, helping make Brunswick one of the best run-producing teams in the FAA with his strong bat. Shepelsky was a tough out all season and should help power the Bruins’ lineup in 2025.

Michael Yeager, a 2024 graduate, was an ace pitcher for the Bruins, providing dominant starts throughout his Brunswick career, including, of course, this past season. A hard-throwing right-hander, Yeager featured a fastball that was hard for opposing batters to catch up to, while showing outstanding command of all of his pitches.

Yeager was also a mainstay in the heart of Brunswick’s lineup, getting significant hits during the squad’s highly successful season. Yeager, who will play baseball at the University of Virginia, was an All-NEPSAC Honorable Mention Selection. He too, was a Bruins captain.

For the 2024 season, Brunswick, coached by Connor Redahan, registered an overall record of 14-6 and finished in second place in the FAA, earning the No. 2 seed in the FAA Tournament. The Bruins defeated St. Luke’s School in the FAA Tournament semifinals 2-0, then were edged by top-seeded rival Hamden Hall Country Day School in the FAA final, 4-3.
