Excelling on the lacrosse field and in the classroom, Greenwich Academy 2023 graduates Ellie Burdick and Ellie Johnson earned USA Lacrosse All-America and USA Lacrosse All-America Academic honors for the 2023 season.
Burdick was a mainstay as a midfielder during her entire lacrosse career at Greenwich Academy. She will take her Division I lacrosse skills to Dartmouth College.

Johnson, an outstanding defender, will play Division I lacrosse at Stanford University. Burdick was one of GA’s leading scorers during the 2023 season and powered the squad’s offense throughout her distinguished lacrosse career.
Some of her many highlights this past season for the Gators include a five-goal performance in the team’s 10-9 Senior Day win against Hotchkiss School last month and a three-goal effort in an 11-8 victory over Georgetown Visitation.

Burdick tallied two goals and two assists in a 14-13 win against Loyola Academy, scoring the game-winning goal. In GA’s 12-5 triumph against Loomis Chaffee last month, Burdick posted her 100th career draw control.
Besides flourishing on the offensive end of the field, she also made her mark on the defensive side. Burdick served as one GA’s senior captains, along with Johnson and standout goalie Rebecca Arpano (who will play lacrosse at Harvard).

Johnson helped anchor Greenwich Academy’s strong defensive unit. She provided rock-solid defense throughout the 2023 season and in each season of her impressive GA lacrosse career.
Like her fellow captains, Johnson provided exceptional leadership to the squad, helping lead it to another highly successful season. Greenwich Academy made it difficult for its opponents to generate goals due in large part to its defensive unit, paced by Johnson.
GA’s All-America duo were both three-sport athletes. Besides playing lacrosse, Burdick competed on Greenwich Academy’s soccer and basketball teams, while Johnson played field hockey and basketball.

Along with being presented with USA Lacrosse All-American and USA Lacrosse Academic All-American accolades, Johnson and Burdick were chosen as members of the All-NEPSAC Team for the 2023 season.

Katie Barr, who plays attack and is a rising junior, was also an All-NEPSAC Team selection. Barr emerged as one of the Gators’ most consistent offensive players this past season.
Some of Barr’s best offensive efforts included a 4-goal performance in GA’s 12-5 victory over Taft and a three-goal game in the squad’s close win against Loyola Academy.

She also tallied twice in a win against Georgetown Visitation.
Also for Greenwich Academy, Lila Cabot, Molly Moore and Sienna Tejpaul each received All-NEPSAC Honorable Mention recognition.
Tejpaul was a senior defender, who also contributed greatly to the team’s strong defensive unit for several seasons. Also a soccer player and field hockey star, Tejpaul will play field hockey at Yale University.
Cabot, a rising junior, sparked GA’s defensive unit throughout the season, while Moore, a rising senior, excelled as a midfielder.
For the season, Greenwich Academy registered a record of 8-2 and was ranked No. 24 in the Nike/USA Lacrosse Top 25 National Rankings.
