
Greenwich High School’s girls volleyball team posted win No. 11 on the season on Monday with a 3-0 sweep of host Staples in an FCIAC match.
Wednesday, the Cardinals were defeated at home by Trumbull, 3-1, in a tight FCIAC matchup. Against Staples, the Cardinals won the match by set scores of 25-16, 27-25, 25-20.
Kassidy Bonney powered Greenwich’s offense, recording a team-high 15 kills to go along with eight digs, two aces, three service points, one assist and one block.
Hayley Dionis posted 17 digs and one ace, while Sarah Bernann kept the offense flowing with 39 assists, six digs, three service points and one block for the Cardinals against the Wreckers. Alina Sarkissian had 16 kills, four blocks and two digs, while Skylar Wilson tallied 11 digs and three service points for Greenwich, which sports an 11-2 record for the season.

In Wednesday’s loss against Trumbull, Bonney had 17 kills, 21 digs, four aces, three service points, one assist and one block. The Eagles defeated the Cardinals, 25-18, 14-25, 26-24, 25-22.
Dionis totaled 30 digs and four aces and Bernann notched 42 assists, eight digs, five service points, five aces and one block for the Cards. Sarkissian added 11 kills, two blocks and three digs for GHS, which is in action again tomorrow with a home match against Danbury at 4:30 p.m.
