Two first-half goals resulted in a happy Homecoming for the Brunswick School soccer team against St. Luke’s School.
On the strength of two first-half goals, Brunswick registered a well-earned a 2-1 Homecoming Day win over St. Luke’s on Oct. 13 at Cosby Field.

Kieran Raker, a senior, gave the Bruins a 1-0 lead on the Storm in the 32nd minute. After Luke James was fouled while he was going toward the goal, junior Will Higgs directed the ensuing free kick on net, which found the foot of Raker.
Raker then deposited the ball into the bottom right corner of the goal, giving Brunswick a 1-0 edge.

Eight minutes later, the Bruins extended their advantage. Raker passed the ball up the field to Patrick O’Donohue, a junior.
O’Donohue booted a shot from 25 yards out into the top right corner of the goal, putting the Bruins on top of the Storm, 2-0.

St. Luke’s cut Brunswick’s lead to 2-1 early in the second half. The Storm couldn’t tally the equalizer, however, as the Bruins earned their sixth win of the season.
Senior goalie Phil Stabinsky made six saves for Brunswick, which was sparked defensively by Sebi Medina, Charlie Perkins, Ollie Leonard and Johnny Saunders.

Up next for Brunswick is a road game against Greenwich Country Day School Wednesday at 4 p.m.
