Nathan Lee and the Brunswick School cross country team certainly accomplished plenty during their FAA League meet at Sherwood Island State Park on Wednesday.
Lee, a sophomore, won the race in a course, school and league record time of 15:50 for the Bruins, who defeated each one of their FAA opponents at the meet.

The Bruins posted victories against Hopkins School, Masters School, Greenwich Country Day School, St. Luke’s School, Rye Country Day School, Greens Farms Academy and King during Wednesday’s meet at Sherwood Island – the third league meet of the season.
Brunswick was victorious against Hopkins, 26-30, marking the first time in five years it defeated its rival in the regular season.
“We believed this dramatic achievement was coming and predicted it,” Brunswick head coach Steve Polikoff said. “In so many ways, it was Brunswick cross country’s best day ever.”

Lee added to his impressive fall season for the Bruins by earning the record times to his latest first-place finish. Edward Hojla, a freshman, finished in second place in Wednesday’s meet, registering a time of 16:47.
Senior Patrick Duncan gave Brunswick a fifth-place finish, crossing the finish line in 17:46.

Armaan Lakhani, a freshman, placed 10th for the Bruins with a time of 18:12, while Arjan Kolluri, also a freshman, placed 23rd in 19:27. Luke Dougherty, a senior, was 24th for Brunswick (19:29.)
Sophomore Alexander Mastellone posted a time of 20:14 for Brunswick, which was sparked by the presence of Dougherty, who returned to action, after missing time with an injury.

Alexander Mastellone, a sophomore, finished the race in 20:14 for the Bruins. Greenwich Country Day School was paced by sophomore Zafran Kocyba. Kocyba finished in seventh place with a time of 17:56.
Keeping pace with Kocyba was Greenwich Country Day teammate Jeffrey Piper. A sophomore, Piper finished eighth in 18:02.
Sophomore Charlie Maloney placed 11th for GCDS in 18:16, while teammates Bobby Jones, a junior and John Piper, a freshman, clocked in at 19:43 and 19:50, respectively.

The Bruins defeated Masters, 22-34, Greenwich Country Day School, 21-35, St. Luke’s, 17-44, Rye Country Day School, 15-50, Greens Farms Academy, 15-50 and King, 15-50.
