The Cardinals held an 11-7 lead on Central following the first quarter, then was ahead, 25-13 at halftime.

“Today was a great team win with every player on the court contributing,” Greenwich coach Megan Wax said. “It was fast-paced and very aggressive and the girls demonstrated perseverance on both ends of the court.”
Junior forward Kate Baxendale totaled 12 points, eight of which came in the second half, while senior forward/center Riana Xhekaj added 10 points, with six coming in the second half for the Cards.
“We were able to really attack the rim and penetrate the paint, which of course, helped get our outside looks a lot more open,” Wax noted.
Senior point guard Ayanna Davenport helped effectively run the offense, scoring 11 points, while converting three 3-point shots for Greenwich. Megan Geiger, a senior guard and Juliette Pelham, a sophomore guard posted three points apiece, while senior guard Caroline McShea made a pair of baskets for four points in the winning effort.
