
Absolutely dominant.
That’s what the Sacred Heart Greenwich basketball team has been in the Fairchester Athletic Association so far this season.
The Tigers have rolled to a record of 7-0 in the FAA and have already clinched the FAA regular season championship. Sacred Heart has defeated all seven of its FAA foes so far this season by more than 10 points, with six of its victories coming by more than 20 points. One of the Tigers’ statement-making wins occurred this past Thursday against longtime FAA rival St. Luke’s School.
Receiving a career-high 38 points from senior guard/forward Payton Sfreddo, Sacred Heart earned a convincing 71-49 triumph over host St. Luke’s, which is the seven-time defending FAA Tournament champion. The 38 points Sfreddo scored set a Sacred Heart record for the most points scored in a single game.

The Tigers’ leading scorer, Sfreddo, a co-captain, also grabbed nine rebounds, while tallying three assists and two blocks. She has consistently scored in double digits throughout the season for SHG and has scored 20 points or more in numerous games.
Freshman Lucianna Parrotta scored 11 points and snared eight rebounds, while senior point guard/co-captain Madison Hart totaled five points, eight assists and blocked two shots for the Tigers in their victory against St. Luke’s. Guards Ava Curto, a sophomore and Eva Wilkerson, a junior, added four points apiece, while Wilkerson had four rebounds in the winning effort.
Also for SHG, coached by Ayo Hart, senior guard Victoria Hart tallied three points, four rebounds, three assists and three steals versus the Storm.

Overall, Sacred Heart sports a sparkling record of 13-4. Their final FAA regular season game is Monday when they host Hopkins School at 4:45 p.m. Also recently, SHG was victorious against NEPSAC opponent Taft School at home, 56-47.
Sfreddo paced the Tigers offense, pouring in 19 points. She also did the job on the backboards, pulling down six rebounds, to go along with three assists and two blocks.
Parrotta contributed 13 points and six rebounds in the win over Taft, while Madison Hart recorded nine points, five rebounds, four assists and two blocks. Senior guard Olivia Leahy added five points versus Taft, while junior forward/center Jadamarie Henry posted five points.
The Tigers will be seeded No. 1 in the FAA Tournament and have clinched a berth in the NEPSAC Class A Tournament.
