Greenwich High School boys swim continues perfect season with home victories against New Canaan, Westhill

Recent victories against FCIAC opponents Westhill/Stamford and New Canaan continued the Greenwich High School boys swimming/diving team’s season of perfection.

The Cardinals raised their record to a perfect 9-0 by defeating Westhill and New Canaan. Greenwich’s home meet against FCIAC rival New Canaan was its toughest test so far this season.

The Cardinals pulled out an eight-point win against the rival Rams, who Greenwich, should contend for the team title at the FCIAC Swimming Championships next month.

So far this winter, legendary coach Terry Lowe’s Cardinals have earned victories against Darien, Staples, Ridgefield, Trumbull, Fairfield Prep, Danbury, Wilton, New Canaan and Westhill.

Greenwich’s remaining meets are against Fairfield Ludlowe and Norwalk/Brien McMahon. The Cardinals host Fairfield Ludlowe Wednesday at 4:15 p.m. and will face Norwalk/McMahon on Feb. 21.

Greenwich has won the team title at the CIAC State Open Championships nine consecutive seasons and has captured the team championship at the FCIAC meet 52 out of the last 53 seasons.
