Greenwich High School’s boys tennis team continued its outstanding start to the season, recording victories against Wilton and Bridgeport Central, recently, to raise its record to 4-0.
On Monday, Greenwich was victorious against FCIAC opponent Wilton, 5-2. Alexander Salib was edged in a hard-fought match against Wilton at No. 1 singles, 6-4, 4-6, 5-7. At No. 2 singles, Manuel Galli Specos gave Greenwich a 6-2, 6-2 win.
In the No. 3 singles match, Matthew Hunt of the Cardinals swept his Wilton opponent, 6-0, 6-0. In doubles play, Harrison Wolfe/Rohan Mittal earned a 6-3, 6-3 win for GHS at the No. 1 spot. Bruce Lunder/Ishan Ambastha teamed up for a 6-4, 6-2 triumph for the Cardinals at second doubles versus the Warriors and Nick Frumin/Daniel Lee (No. 3) posted a 6-2, 6-1 victory.
Against Bridgeport Central at GHS on Tuesday, the Cardinals were victorious, 7-0. Salib won his match at first singles, 6-0, 6-1, while teammate Noah Everett registered a 6-0, 6-1 triumph at No. 2. The Cards won the third and fourth singles matches by forfeit. Elias Orrell and Owen Kwon were 6-0, 6-0 winners at No. 1 doubles and Pierre August/Sowter also won their match at second doubles versus Central.
The Cardinals are in action again on Thursday against host New Canaan.
