No. 1-ranked Brunswick wins New England West I Conference lacrosse title with road victory against Salisbury; Bruins’ record 15-0 after victories against Salisbury, Avon Old Farms

Brunswick School’s lacrosse team kept its perfect season and No. 1 ranking in the nation intact with two victories this past week – one at home and one on the road.

The Bruins registered a 13-8 win over Avon Old Farms School at Cosby Field on May 8, then traveled to Salisbury School on May 10 and defeated their NEPSAC rival, 14-8.

With the wins, the Bruins raised their record to 15-0 overall. They are ranked No. 1 in the USA Lacrosse High School Boys’ National Top 25 rankings.

In their home game versus Avon Old Farms, the Bruins led 4-1 after the first quarter and were ahead, 10-2, at halftime. Brunswick held a 3-1 advantage on Salisbury on their way to recording the convincing win.

The victory against Salisbury School clinched the New England West League I championship for Brunswick. It is the program’s second outright New England West title, the previous one coming in 2017. The Bruins travel to Staples High School in Westport today for a non-conference matchup, then will host the Prep Nationals tournament, which begins on Friday.
