Ally Bauer of Greenwich High School places in third place at FCIAC Girls Golf Invitational Tournament at Country Club of New Canaan

Greenwich High School junior Ally Bauer produced another impressive round of golf this spring, this time at the FCIAC Girls Golf Invitational Tournament at Country Club of New Canaan.

Bauer, one of the Cardinals’ top golfers, finished a strong third in the competitive tournament, shooting a 78. Bauer shot a 38 on the front nine, then carded a 40 on the back nine for her round of 78 for the Cardinals.

Arabella Lopez of Ridgefield was the FCIAC Invitational Tournament’s medalist, winning the tournament by shooting a 72. Lopez shot a 34 on the front nine, before posting a 38 on the back for the victory.

Chloe Cui, representing New Canaan, placed second with a 75 (40-35-75). Greenwich senior Caroline McShea shot an 86 (39-47) for a 10th place finish.

Up next for Greenwich is the FCIAC Championships, which will take place at Fairchild Wheeler Golf Course in Fairfield on Thursday. The FCIAC Championships is scheduled to begin at 12 p.m.

The Cardinals are seeking their first FCIAC championship since 2015. They placed second behind champion Trumbull in 2023.
