Outstanding water polo athletes representing Brunswick School and Greenwich High School recently received High School All-America honors by the National Interscholastic Swim Coaches Association for the 2023-2024 scholastic season.
Ryan Ohl, a 2024 Brunswick School graduate, who will soon continue his water polo career at Stanford University, is a National Interscholastic Swim Coaches Association First Team All-America selection for the 2023-2024 season.

A three-time NISCA Boys Water Polo All-America honoree, Ohl also earned First Team All-America accolades for the 2022-2023 season. Ohl is a 2023-2024 NISCA All-America swimmer as well for Brunswick.
Ohl helped power the Bruins’ highly successful water polo team on both ends of the pool since his freshman year and ignited the team’s offense. The 2023 fall season saw, Brunswick win the NEPSAC Tournament championship.
After receiving a first-round bye in the NEPSAC Tournament championship, the Bruins defeated Choate Rosemary Hall, 23-4, before posting a 19-10 win over Phillips Exeter in the tournament’s title game. Brunswick has won nine consecutive NEPSAC Tournament championships.
Adam Blum, a rising Brunswick senior, received Second Team NISCA All-America accolades. Blum was also an integral part of the Bruins’ offensive attack, scoring numerous clutch goals, while setting up a wealth of other goals. Ohl is the only Connecticut player to be selected by the NISCA as a First Team All-American – the majority of the players are from California. Blum is also the only player from a Connecticut-based school to be chosen as a Second Team NISCA All-American.

Leo DiLascia, a rising Greenwich High School senior, received NISCA Third Team All-America recognition. He is the only player from Connecticut to earn NISCA Third Team All-America honors.
DiLascia is an outstanding goalie for Greenwich High School’s boys water polo team, which produced another standout season last fall and should be primed to experience another memorable season this fall with DiLascia returning in goal.
Emil Sogaard-Srikrishnan, an incoming Brunswick senior, was a member of the Bruins’ 2023 squad that captured the NEPSAC Championship. Sogaard-Srikrishnan helped propel Brunswick’s offense throughout its 2023 season and was honored with Fifth Team NISCA All-America honors.

Luke Mendelsohn was one of the stars of the Greenwich High team that was once again, one of the premier teams in the region. Mendelsohn was awarded with NISCA Sixth Team All-America accolades.
Mendelsohn is entering his senior year at Greenwich High and will be looked upon to help lead the Cardinals’ 2024 water polo team. He also earned NISCA High School All-America Swimming honors for the 2023-2024 season.

Benjamin Atkinson, a rising Brunswick senior, received NISCA Sixth Team All-America recognition. With Atkinson, an outstanding athlete, returning to the Bruins this fall, they will no doubt, be a force to reckon with as they look to win another NEPSAC Tournament championship.
