
It was another successful week of FAA baseball for Brunswick School, which excelled at the plate and on the mound in a sweep of rival King School in a home-and-home series.
The Bruins earned a 5-3 home win over the Vikings on April 17, after rolling to a 12-0 victory at King on April 14. For the season, the Bruins sport a record of 6-2 in the FAA.
In Brunswick’s triumph against King on April 17, Johnny Gally received the start allowing only one run on three hits in 3 2/3 innings for the Bruins. Andrew Gally earned the win in relief, yielding two hits, two runs, none of which were earned and one strikeout in one inning. Tyrus Ostrowski picked up the save for Brunswick, striking out three batters in two hitless and scoreless innings of relief.

Brunswick received timely hitting in their home win against King on April 17. Infielder Jack Bylow hit a two-out, two-run single, giving the Bruins a 4-2 lead in the bottom of the fourth inning. Maximus Gabelli delivered two hits, Wim Nook showed a good eye at the plate, drawing four walks and infielder Jayden Montanez drove in a key run in the bottom of the sixth inning in the winning effort.
In the Bruins’ one-sided, 12-0 win versus King on April 14, the victors struck for seven runs in the top of the fourth inning. Montanez drove in two runs in the big inning, while Landon O’Hara hit an RBI single.

Jack Nardis and Andrew Gally each drew walks with the bases loaded, forcing in runs in the Bruins’ big fourth inning. The first inning saw Marini smash a two-run double and Andrew Gally knock in one run.
Montanez went 2 for 4 with two RBIs, while Gally, Marini and O’Hara each had two RBIs for the Bruins.

Showing a keen eye at the plate, Brunswick drew 10 walks off King’s pitchers, with Nook leading the way with three walks. The Bruins also stole five bases, with Ostrowski pacing the way with two stolen bases.
Brunswick visits Poly Prep Country Day School on Monday, then returns to FAA action Tuesday (April 22) against Greens Farms Academy. The game is scheduled to start at 4:15 p.m. The Bruins will then travel to GFA in Westport on April 24.
