
The Greenwich High School girls tennis team made it a perfect 10, then added win No. 11.
The Cardinals raised their record to a perfect 11-0 by sweeping Stamford and Norwalk, rolling to 7-0 victories. Greenwich visited Stamford High School on Wednesday (May 7) and earned another victory against an FCIAC opponent.
Senior Izzy Everett got the start at first singles for Greenwich against Stamford and posted a 6-1, 6-0 win against Maria Rivera. At second singles, Avery Li gave Greenwich a 6-0, 6-0 victory. In the No. 3 singles match, Elin Ever of the Cardinals was a 6-0, 6-1 winner.
Yume Inagawa, a senior, won her match at No. 4 singles for GHS, 6-0, 6-0. In doubles action, seniors Abigail Vandervoom and Emme Pecorin won in straight sets against Liz Toussaint-Brown/Chloe Simner, 6-1, 6-0. Piya Sharma/Mila Mitra of the Cardinals were victorious at No. 2 doubles, 6-1, 6-2.
In the No. 3 doubles matchup, Amelia Foeli and Kate Wick teamed up for Greenwich and registered a 6-3, 6-3 victory. After sweeping Stamford, Greenwich played host to FCIAC opponent Norwalk High School on Thursday (May 8) and promptly posted another 7-0 triumph.

Junior Shining Sun kept her sensational season at No. 1 singles going for the Cards, topping Roniah Imran, 6-0, 6-0. Caitlin Mahoney was also perfect again at second singles for Greenwich, sweeping Andrea Charles, 6-0, 6-0. Sun and Mahoney have been such a powerful first and second singles combination for the Cardinals so far this season.
Everett (No. 3) won her singles match by a 6-0, 6-0 score as well, as did Ever (No. 4) for the host Cardinals. In doubles play, Vandervoorn and sophomore Cameron Sowter were victorious, 6-1, 6-0, at the No. 1 spot. Bella Barban and Olivia Popp teamed up at No. 2 doubles for GHS and won their match in impressive fashion, 6-0, 6-1.
Clara Sibley and Quinn Campinell were also in top form at third doubles, winning their matchup, 6-0, 6-1. Greenwich hosts rival Ridgefield Friday (May 9) at 4:30 p.m.
