
Greenwich High’s varsity girls lacrosse team heads into its regular season finale against Wilton on May 20th on a two-game winning streak after cruising to convincing wins over Westhill and Southington.
The Cardinals hosted Southington on May 16th and recorded a resounding 19-3 win in a non-conference matchup. Giselle DiPietro registered four goals and five assists, while Aubrey Roth scored four goals and assisted on three to help pace the Cardinals’ offense.
Sophia DiPietro had five goals and two assists, while Dillon McFerran added two goals and one assist for the Cardinals (8-8). Lindsay Messer posted one goal and one assist for GHS, which received one goal apiece from Claire Campinell and Annabelle DeGennaro.

Against Westhill on May 14th in Stamford, Greenwich pulled away for a 21-5 triumph. Roth netted six goals and four assists, while McFerran tallied six times to ignite the Cardinals’ attack. Giselle DiPietro recorded a hat trick with five assists and Sophia DiPietro notched two goals and four assists in the winning effort.
Messer, Campinell, Mary Kate O’Connor and Terra McDonnell each scored one goal for the victors. Greenwich’s game against Wilton is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. at Cardinal Stadium on May 20. Then the FCIAC Tournament is up next for the Cardinals.
