
Greenwich High School senior Ally Bauer made her final appearance at the FCIAC Girls Golf Championship one to remember.
Bauer earned medalist honors at the competitive FCIAC Golf Championship, shooting a 4-over-par 74 at Country Club of Fairfield on May 29. Bauer, who had the best score out of the more than 30 golfers competing in the conference tournament, shot a 39 on the front nine and a 35 on the back nine on her way to carding her impressive round of 4-over 70 for the Cardinals.
Greenwich placed fourth in the team standings out of six teams at the FCIAC Championship at Country Club of Fairfield. The Cardinals finished with a five-player aggregate score of 387. New Canaan won the team title at the FCIAC Championship, posting a team aggregate score of 347.
Maxie Mirin led New Canaan with a round of 81, followed by teammates Carielle D’Elisa (85) and Chloe Cui (87). Trumbull placed second in the FCIAC Championship with a score of 353. Erica Laurentino and Grace Codd each carded an 84 to pace the Eagles.
Darien finished third at the FCIAC Championship, registering a team score of 385. Shannon Dillon led the way for the Blue Wave by shooting an 85. Bauer earned medalist honors for the Cardinals in convincing fashion, as she finished seven shots ahead of New Canaan’s Mirin, who had the second-best score in the tournament.
Ellery Talbot, a junior, had Greenwich’s next best score after Bauer, shooting a 92. Talbot shot a 49 on the front nine and 43 on the back. At the FCIAC Girls Golf Individual Championship on May 27 at Country Club of New Canaan, Talbot finished in second place out of 21 players competing in the tournament.
Talbot shot a 9-over-par 79, finishing in a first-place tie with Lauren Livesay of New Canaan after 18 holes. Talbot and Livesay went to a playoff to determine the champion and Livesay won the tournament by parring the first playoff hole.
Talbot shot a 37 on the front nine and carded a 42 on the back en route to her sparkling round at Country Club of New Canaan. Bauer turned in a sixth place finish for GHS. She shot an 85, with a 44 on the front and a 41 on the back for the Cardinals.
