Sacred Heart Greenwich sophomore Julianna Luzzi had 1000 reasons to smile when the school’s varsity volleyball team played at Hopkins School on October 1st.
Luzzi, a sophomore setter, reached an outstanding milestone in the Tigers match against the host Hilltoppers, recording her 1000th career assist.
This marks Luzzi’s second season as a member of Sacred Heart’s varsity volleyball team. She played varsity volleyball as an eighth grader for Port Chester (N.Y.) High School, where she also made her presence felt. After a sensational freshman season for SHG, Luzzi is having a strong sophomore season with the Tigers, as she’s helped run the offense with her stellar setting.
Sacred Heart is planning on honoring Luzzi’s 1000th career assist accomplishment when the team hosts Westminster School on Saturday (Oct. 4). The Tigers’ home match against Westminster is scheduled for 3 p.m.
