It was an all-Greenwich matchup recently, as Greenwich Country Day School and Sacred Heart Greenwich tested their ice hockey skills against each other at Wings Arena in Stamford on Jan. 13th for a varsity FAA game.
It was also an all-Tigers matchup and it was the Tigers of Greenwich Country Day School that prevailed, earning a 5-2 victory over Sacred Heart. The win raised Greenwich Country Day’s FAA record to 2-0 and overall mark on the season at 6-6-1.
Freshman forward Anna Terjanian registered two goals and two assists to help lead host Greenwich Country Day to the FAA win. Caroline Muzzio, a senior forward, posted one goal and one assist for GCDS.

Sacred Heart Greenwich, which is 2-1 in the FAA and xx overall, received two goals from Lindsay Schwind. Greenwich Country Day School took a 1-0 lead when Terjanian scored off an assist from eighth grader Blake Higdon with 8:24 remaining in the first period.
Early in the second period, GCDS extended its advantage to 2-0, behind another Terjanian goal. Sophomore forward Giana Tedesco assisted on the goal with 16:35 to go in the second period.
Schwind cut Greenwich Country Day’s lead to 2-1 by generating a goal at the 5:54 mark of the second period.

Sophomore forward Caroline Muzzio with 2:39 left in the second period, giving host GCDS a 3-1 edge. A goal from freshman forward Lily Picket 24 seconds later put GCDS on top, 4-1.
Schwind’s second goal brought SHG to within 4-2 at the 13:16 mark of the third period. Michaela O’Brien had the assist on Schwind’s goal.
Junior forward Cecilia Neise gave Greenwich Country Day a three-goal lead again when she tallied off a Caroline Muzzio assist with 2:31 remaining in the third period.

Freshman Stella Vazquez got the win in goal for GCDS, which is coached by Ashley Bairos. Katie McQuillan was in goal for Sacred Heart, coached by Chris Myhro.
Greenwich Country Day hosts Greenwich Academy on Jan. 22 at Wings Arena at 5 p.m. Sacred Heart is in action again on Jan. 31st against King School at Dorothy Hamill Skating Rink at 3 p.m.
