Another highly successful season has been produced by Sacred Heart Greenwich’s varsity basketball team, the two-time defending FAA Tournament champion, which now has its sights set enjoying another memorable postseason.
The Tigers put the finishing touch on their stellar 2025-2026 regular season by ending it in perfect Senior Day style.
Excelling throughout, Sacred Heart was victorious on Senior Day in convincing fashion, posting a 71-38 home win over its sister school, Newton Country Day on Feb. 21st. With the win, SHG finished its regular season with a record of 15-6 heading into the Fairchester Athletic Association Basketball Tournament.

Sacred Heart is seeded second in the eight-team FAA Tournament with a league record of 7-1. The Tigers were supposed to host seventh-seeded Masters School in the quarterfinal-round of the FAA Tournament today (Feb. 23rd). Yet the game was postponed due to the blizzard that has blanketed the region. Schools were closed today all over the area and school will not be in session tomorrow in the region, so it looks as though the FAA Tournament will begin on Wednesday, Feb. 25th.
The Tigers have won the FAA Tournament title the past two seasons and have high hopes of continuing their reign in the league before they move on to the NEPSAC Class A Basketball Tournament. On Senior Day, SHG paid tribute to its two seniors, both of whom are captains – Ava Curto and Eva Wilkerson.
The senior duo has meant so much to the basketball program since they joined the squad.
“It’s been really good, it’s really emotional because it’s Senior Day,” Wilkerson said of her senior season as a member of the Tigers and playing on Senior Day. “I’m just really looking forward to playing the rest of the season with my best friends.”

In the Tigers’ decisive triumph against Newton Country Day, Wilkerson scored 12 points, six of which came in the second quarter and junior forward/captain Emma Matthews poured in 12 points. Matthews made four 3-pointers, accounting for all 12 of her points.
Junior forward Lucianna Parrotta continued her fine season, leading Sacred Heart in scoring versus Newton Country Day with 15 points. Parrotta scored 12 points in the first half to help the Tigers seize a comfortable 40-24 halftime lead.
“It was a good Senior Day win,” SHG coach Ayo Hart said. “It was a special day for us, because Newton Country Day is our sister school, so it was a good Senior Day.”

The Tigers enter the FAA Tournament rested and ready to impose their will.
“We’re all healthy, so to have 12 healthy people back on the roster is phenomenal,” Hart said.
As for the team’s Senior Day performance?
“To be able to see everyone contribute and control the tempo and execute what we wanted to do was fun,” Hart noted.
Freshman point guard Addy Sipkin totaled eight points with one 3-point shot, while Curto and guard Adrian Allegretti netted five points apiece for the victors.

“I think it was a great game from everyone all-around,” Wilkerson said following the Senior Day win. “It was high energy and good vibes today and I think everyone came to play. We all come together and it was just a really good team win.”
Said Curto: “It was good, it’s a very exciting day. I’ve been on this team for five years, so it’s exciting to be recognized with one of my best friends, Eva. I think we’ve developed very well. We’re all very close and we’ve definitely grown a lot through the whole season.”
Lily Sullivan and Caroline Contino each contributed four points to the winning effort, while teammates Xoe Henry, Sara Pastula and Reese Forlini scored two points apiece in the triumph – the 15th of the season for the Tigers.

Eloise Koeing scored eight points, while teammates Sarah Ryan and Francesca Hajer had seven points apiece for Newton Country Day.
SHG held a 59-29 lead after three quarters of action, showcasing its depth.
Now, it’s playoff time for Sacred Heart.

“I feel super confident,” Wilkerson said of competing in the postseason. “I think we’re a very different team from where we were in December and in January. Now, we’re in February and we’re all locked in, so I’m really excited.”
“We want to play our hardest on the court and to make the most out of it,” Curto said.
