Winning 11 of 12 events and showcasing its impressive depth, the Greenwich boys swimming team improved its record to 3-0, defeating Norwalk/McMahon in a meet held at Norwalk High School on Wednesday.
Christian Lanuza won two individual events for Greenwich. He placed first in the 200 freestyle (1:46.44) and won the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 53.48. In the 200 medley relay, Benjamin Schinto, Mic DiLascia, James Pascale and Aiden Bucaria teamed up for a first-place time of 1:40.93.
Justin Jacob, a junior, was the 200 individual medley winner for Greenwich, touching the wall in 2:05.56. Hunger Johnson, a senior, had a first-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle, (22.16) and senior Joel Satir earned 257 diving points, good for first place.
A sophomore, Bucaria took first in the 100 freestyle (49.32). Norwalk/McMahon received a first-place finish from Kalen Anbar in the 500-yard freestyle. Greenwich’s foursome of Lanuza, Bucaria, Pascale and Thomas Cass produced a time of 1:32.87 in the 200 freestyle relay and Schinto earned top honors in the 100 backstroke (56.63.
DiLascia, a junior, was the 100-yard breaststroke winner in 1:02.18. The meet ended with Greenwich winning the 400-yard freestyle (Bucaria, Lanuza, Cass, Ryan Jee, 3:30.87. Norwalk/McMahon is 2-1 on the season. Greenwich is in action next on Wednesday against Wilton.
