
The Greenwich High School girls golf team improved its record to 5-3 with a 186-194 victory against Staples Thursday at Griffith E. Harris Golf Course in Greenwich.
The Cardinals have won four out of their last five matches. Freshman Caroline McShea earned medalist honors in the match, shooting a 37 over nine holes at The Griff at the No. 1 spot.
Ella Fish, a junior co-captain, carded a 48, while freshman Charlotte Langhorne finished with a 49 for the Cardinals. Sarah Peng, a senior co-captain, posted a 52 for Greenwich, which plays Fairfield Warde on Monday at Smith Richardson Golf Course.
For Staples (7-2), Leni Lemcke shot a 38. In a match on Wednesday at Tashua Knolls in Trumbull, the Cardinals were edged by Trumbull, 194-198. McShea was the medalist of the match, shooting a round of 41.
