Cardinals girls lacrosse team eliminated in FCIAC Tournament by Wilton

Freshman midfielder Emma Abbazia registered four goals and one assist for the Greenwich High School girls lacrosse team, which was eliminated by Wilton in the quarterfinal-round of the FCIAC Girls Lacrosse Tournament in Wilton on Monday.

The third-seeded host Warriors posted a 15-10 victory over the sixth-seeded Cardinals in the quarterfinals to advance to the tournament’s semifinals.

Greenwich, which dropped a 14-5 decision to Wilton on Friday, received two goals from sophomore attack Cece Tauber on Monday. Senior midfielder Grace Collier registered one goal and one assist, while Abbazia added an assist to go along with her four goals for the Cardinals (8-6).

Junior attack Noey Johnson tallied one goal and one assist, while senior attack Delaney Roth and sophomore Sophia Neitzell added one goal apiece for Greenwich, which scored five times in the first half. Up next for Greenwich is the CIAC Class L Tournament.

Wilton ran its record to 12-3 with the win. The Warriors will face second-seeded Darien at Wilton in Wednesday’s 7 p.m. FCIAC semifinals. In Wilton’s win against Greenwich, Addison Pattillo registered four goals and one assist, while Emerson Pattillo scored four times. Molly Snow had two goals and one assist, while Grace Williams added one goal and one assist.

Morgan Lebek tallied twice, Gwynn Sullivan had one goal and Ashleigh Masterson in the winning effort for the Warriors.
