Greenwich High School boys swimmers earn NISCA All-American honors

The National Interscholastic Swim Coaches Association recently announced its 2020-21 Boys High School Swimming All-America athletes and Greenwich was certainly well-represented on the All-America Team.

Ryan Jee, a rising senior, earned All-America accolades in three events with outstanding performances for the Cardinals this past winter. Jee made the All-America list in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 1:50.67 – a time that was ranked 67th in the nation. The swimmers that had times that placed in the top 100 on each event were selected as All-Americans.

Jee also led off the Cardinals’ 200-yard medley relay team, which registered a time of 1:33.74 (74th best time in the country). He also helped key Greenwich’s 400-yard freestyle relay squad. Greenwich’s 400-yard freestyle All-America relay team also included Alex Plavoukos, a 2021 Greenwich graduate, James Pascale (2021 GHS graduate) and Nick Malchow, who also graduated this past spring. The Cardinals’ 400 freestyle relay squad registered a time of 3:05.36 (42nd time in the nation).

Greenwich’s 200-yard medley relay team of Jee, Aiden Bucaria (a rising junior), Pascale and Malchow had an All-America time of 1:33.74. Guided by legendary coach Terry Lowe, Greenwich won the FCIAC West Division title this past season.
