Led by Meghan Lynch, the Greenwich High School girls swimming team received plenty of All-America recognition by the National Interscholastic Swim Coaches Association.
Lynch, a 2021 Greenwich graduate, who will continue her swimming career at Stanford University, earned All-America honors in four events during Greenwich’s 2020 fall season. She swam to NISCA All-America honors all four years as a member of the Cardinals’ varsity swim squad, making All-American in multiple events each year.
The NISCA lists the athletes that posted the top 100 times in each event. For 2020-2021, Lynch recorded the 13th best time in the nation in the 500-yard freestyle (4:46.76). Her All-American time of 1:47.83 was 22nd best in the country and her performance in the 100 freestyle (:50.55) ranked 54th in the nation.
Additionally, Lynch led off Greenwich’s All-America 400 freestyle relay team. The Cardinals’ 400 freestyle relay squad included Victoria Liu, a rising sophomore, Caterina Li, who is entering her senior year and rising sophomore Payton Foster. The speedy relay swam to a time of 3:30.89. Lynch will soon begin her Stanford swimming career.
