Greenwich High cruises past Fairfield Warde in FCIAC field hockey action

Four goals from Isa Biagini paced the Greenwich High girls field hockey team to a decisive 8-0 triumph against Fairfield Warde in an FCIAC game held on Monday in Fairfield.

Several players complemented Biagini in the scoring department, including Klara Mueffelmann, who had one goal and two assists. Isa Lattuada scored one goal, Kate Donnellan had a goal and Justine Ligouri converted a penalty shot for the Cardinals, who ran their record to 3-1.

Hanna Klingbeil assisted on two goals for Greenwich, which saw goalies Kelly Janssen and Bryn McConnell combine for the shutout.

“The ball was largely on our half of the field,” Greenwich coach Megan Wax said. “We had great ball movement and it was a full team effort today.”

Greenwich plays twice more this week. They will host St. Joseph on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m., then will travel to New Canaan on Saturday at 12 p.m.
