Sacred Heart Greenwich’s Varsity B Field Hockey team has started the season off with two straight wins. Their first victory was a 5-0 win over the Hackley school, and the second victory was a 4-0 triumph over the Taft School.
With goals from juniors Corbin Callaway and Robin Murphy, sophomore Julia Randolph, sophomore Payton Sfreddo and freshman Ainsley Clough, the strong SH team was able to edge Hackley in a game played at Sacred Heart on Sept. 15.
The team went on the road Sept. 22, to the Taft School, where they pulled off a 4-0 win with goals from juniors Lauren Drummey, Maggie Sullivan, and Nieve Beyer and freshman Vivian Monopoli.
Sophomore Helena Randolph has been in goal for both of these games, and has carried the team to victories. Coach Abdel Eli- Ketani has coached field hockey at Sacred Heart for six years.

“This Varsity B team is a very hard working team every year,” coach Eli-Ketani said. “It is a great balance of level of skills, and this shows on the field in our games every time we play.”
Senior co- captain Katherine Devine has been on the Varsity B team for four years.
“This is my fourth year on Sacred Heart’s Varsity B team and I think every year we get stronger and stronger,” Devine said. The field hockey program at Sacred Heart is extremely hard working from top to bottom and I think the coaching staff is dedicated to making the whole program the best we can be.”
Sacred Heart is back in action on Thursday, as it hosts Greenwich Academy’s JV team at 4 p.m.
