The Greenwich High School girls soccer team traveled to Bridgeport Central on Friday and returned home with a 3-0 win in an FCIAC game.
The Cardinals received goals from junior forward Kaitlyn Fay, junior midfielder Julia Daly and sophomore forward Julia Acosta. Greenwich improved its record to 4-4-2 with the victory.
Cardinals coach Simon Rumbold credited junior Emma Viviano for leading the team’s strong defensive play and senior Sofia DeVito and sophomore Isabella DeVito for pacing the squad at the midfield position. Fay and junior Haley Townsend led the Cardinals up front, while sophomore Lara Olmstead made two saves in goal.
Greenwich’s next game is Tuesday when it visits Danbury for a 4:30 p.m. matchup. They will host Westhill on Friday at 4:30 p.m.
