Finishing first in eight events, Sacred Heart Greenwich’s swimming team improved its record to 2-1 by winning it home-opener against Masters School, 44-33, in an FAA meet held on Wednesday.
The Tigers started the meet by winning the 200-yard medley relay. Charlotte Fallon, Elisa Taylor, Alexandra Marshall and Grace Iannaccone combined for a winning time of 2:11.55.
In the 200-yard freestyle, Isabella Shinkler of Masters had a first-place finish in 2:34.05. Gianna Walsh of Sacred Heart placed second in 2:35.71. Fallon took top honors for Sacred Heart in the 50 freestyle (30.03), while Taylor was first in the 100 butterfly (1:10.35).
Iannaccone was the 100-yard freestyle winner with a time of 1:07.24 and Fallon had a first-place finish in the 500 freestyle (6:42.17). Taylor, Iannaccone, Claire Moore and Catriona Marangi teamed up to win the 200-yard freestyle relay (2:04.51).
Taylor won the 100 breaststroke in 1:18.03 and Beata Servick, Claire Moore, Marshall and Fallon combined to finish first in the 400 freestyle relay for SHG.
Up next for Sacred Heart is a road meet against Northfield Mount Hermon on Saturday.
