Brunswick ice hockey team skates to Senior Night victory vs. Trinity-Pawling

Brunswick’s trio of seniors – co-captain Hank Cleaves and alternate captains John Burdett and Max Sauve – all ignited the Bruins’ 7-3 Senior Night victory against Trinity-Pawling School Thursday night at Hartong Rink, following a nice ceremony to honor their combined nine years of varsity experience.

Cleaves didn’t waste any time, netting the game’s first tally just 12 seconds into the game on a nice move to the backhand. Sauve assisted on the next two Bruins’ goals, helping his squad to a 3-0 advantage after one period.

After Trinity-Pawling scored a power play goal on the opening shift of the second period, Burdett made a great play a few minutes later, pushing the puck up ice, with Cleaves ultimately finishing off another play, giving the home team a 4-1 lead.

The Bruins’ younger players completed the scoring during a penalty-filled third period.

Brunswick’s hopes of qualifying for the NESPAC Elite 8 Tournament are still alive. They will need some help will have to defeat Deerfield on the road today.
