
The Greenwich High School girls lacrosse team capped a winning week by rolling to a 19-3 victory over Brien McMahon in an FCIAC game held on Thursday in Norwalk.
With the win, the Cardinals moved their record to 4-1. Sophomore midfielder Emma Abbazia continued her sensational season for the Cardinals, scoring a game-best six goals, while adding one assist.
Noey Johnson, a senior midfielder, tallied five goals and one assist, while junior midfielder Sophia Nietzell had two goals and two assists to also power the winning effort.
Junior attack Cece Tauber posted two goals and four assists, while freshman attack Flynn Tauber had one goal and one assist for Greenwich, which also received one goal apiece from freshman attack Aubrey Roth, sophomore attack Liv Caminiti and sophomore attack Tess Furno.
Sophomore Katie Janis made four saves in goal and teammate Daryl Furno, a junior, stopped one shot for Greenwich, which also defeated Westhill earlier in the week.
Greenwich hosts Stamford on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.
