
Greenwich High School’s girl tennis team earned its sixth win of the season on Thursday, recording a 5-2 victory over host Ridgefield in an FCIAC matchup.
The Cardinals, who raised their record to 6-3 on the season, split the four singles matches and swept the three doubles matches against the Tigers (5-3).
Greenwich received singles wins from sophomore Kyra Dybas at No. 2 and sophomore Lilly Foley at No. 4. Dybas defeated sophomore Ava Treat, 7-5, 6-4 at second singles. Foley topped Ridgefield’s Ciara Hourihan in a tight match, 2-6, 7-5, 7-5 at fourth singles.
In the No. 1 singles match, sophomore Sneh Dagar of Ridgefield was a 7-5, 6-4 winner against Cardinals junior Ivanna Diez de Bonilla. On the doubles side, Greenwich senior Courteney Sheets and freshman Yume Inagawa were in top form at No. 1, notching a 6-2, 6-4 triumph against Cecilia O’Malley/Molly Moriarty.
Sophomore Emily Weinstein and freshman Emme Pecorin continued their successful season at second doubles, winning in straight sets against Carter Mendez and Owen Dulecki, 6-2, 6-1.
At third doubles, senior Kylie Finkelstein and junior Valentina Rivano of the Cardinals were victorious over Amanda Roberts/Skylar Kleinman, 6-4, 6-4.
The Cardinals visit Bridgeport Central and Danbury next week, before hosting Westhill on Thursday.
