Cameron Brower placed first in three events for Greenwich Academy in its meet against Taft School and Kingswood-Oxford School Saturday at Taft in Watertown, a tri-meet that saw GA defeat Kingswood-Oxford and raise its overall record to 11-2-1.
In the 4×400-meter relay, Ali Jaquiery, Lucy Burdett, Ella Zea and Cameron Brower teamed up for a victory. Brower, a senior, crossed the finish line first in the 400-meter run, registering a time of 58.5 seconds.
Brower was also the winner in the javelin event (80-10) and was part of GA’s 4×100-meter relay team that placed second. She anchored the 4×100 relay, which included Burdett, Anaya Brown and Zea.
Greenwich Academy, which is in the midst of an outstanding season, split the meet, topping Kingswood-Oxford and losing to host Taft. Brown ran a 13.7 in the 100-meter dash, while Clare Gannon clocked in at 13.8 in the race.
Gannon also finished second in the discus event, while Brown took second in both the triple jump and long jump. Hannah Murray was third in the javelin and discus for the Gators, who received personal-record times from Casey Duval and Sophia Burraway in the 800 and 3000-meter events, respectively.
Up next for Greenwich Academy is the FAA Championships, which is scheduled to begin on Thursday at Brunswick at 4 p.m.
