Scoring early and often, Greenwich High girls lacrosse team upends Trumbull

Emma Abbazia had another huge scoring game for Greenwich in its win against Trumbull on Thursday.

Flourishing on offense behind a seven-goal effort from sophomore Emma Abbazia, Greenwich High School’s girls lacrosse team turned back Trumbull, 20-6, in a road game held on Thursday.

Abbazia, a sophomore attack registered three assists to go along with her game-high seven goals. Junior midfielder/captain Sophia Neitzell recorded four goals, while junior attack Cece Tauber had a hat trick with two assists to also ignite the Cardinals, who now sport a record of 7-2.

Freshman Aubrey Roth tallied twice and sophomore MK Frey had two goals and one assist for Greenwich, which hosts FCIAC rival Fairfield Ludlowe tomorrow at 10:30 a.m.

Junior Tess Furno added one goal, while junior Ryan Sepot and senior captain Noey Johnson each assisted on a goal for the Cardinals, who travel to Ridgefield and Danbury next week.
