Receiving hits from each spot in its lineup, Greenwich’s baseball team snapped a two-game losing streak by downing Bridgeport Central, 20-5, today in an FCIAC matchup held in Bridgeport.
Senior third baseman Justin Zych went 3 for 3 with four RBIs and three run scored to help pace the Cardinals (7-8). Tyler Cusimano, a senior shortstop, was 2 for 3 with three RBIs, while senior outfielder Marc Thiebeault had two RBI and three runs scored in the win.
James Babb, a senior center fielder was 2 for 2 with an RBI and two runs scored, senior Ryan Perez had one hit, two runs scored and one RBI and sophomore Tommy Passamano had one run scored and one RBI. Junior catcher Michael Bocchino registered two hits, three runs scored and an RBI for Greenwich, which received a hit and three runs scored from senior Javier Serra, one hit and one RBI from sophomore Troy Goodwin and one RBI from junior Nathan Jones.
Senior Vincent Pavonetti allowed three runs in three innings pitched to earn the win. Sean Costello, a senior, allowed two runs in three innings of relief and Babb pitched one scoreless inning for the Cards.
Greenwich is right back in action today against Westhill at 4:30 p.m.
