
After producing an outstanding season for Greenwich High School’s boys lacrosse team, Bryce Metalios and a number of his Cardinals teammates received postseason honors.
Metalios, who will soon be heading to MIT, earned USA Lacrosse Academic All-America honors for his excellence in the classroom. A high-scoring attack, Metalios, who graduated from Greenwich High School last month, also excelled on the field throughout his impressive Cardinals career.
He scored more than 50 goals during his senior season this past spring and registered well more than 100 goals for his varsity career. Metalios powered Greenwich’s offensive attack throughout his career, rising to the occasion in numerous games. He also served as one of the squad’s senior captains.

Several Greenwich athletes received CHSCA All-State Team accolades. James Pilc, a 2022 GHS graduate, earned All-State Class L Second Team honors. Pilc, a midfielder/attack, helped ignite the Cardinals’ offensively, scoring clutch goals throughout the season, while setting up his teammates for scoring opportunities.
Pilc, who also played on the schools’ basketball team, filled the role as both a lacrosse and basketball captain.

Matthew Trimmer, a rising senior, earned CHSCA Class L Second Team All-State honors as well. Trimmer was one of the anchors of the Cardinals’ defense, which was also one of the team’s strengths.

Charlie Zola, who also graduated last month, was a Class L All-State Second Team selection as well. Zola was a consistent force as a goalie for the Cardinals. He helped spearhead Greenwich’s defense with a wealth of key saves throughout the season.

Zola also provided leadership as one of the Cards’ senior captains.
Greenwich was certainly well represented on the All-FCIAC Lacrosse Team. Metalios, Pilc, Quinn Warwick (2022 graduate/captain) and Trimmer each received All-FCIAC Second Team recognition.
Brian Collins, a rising senior, Flynn Milledge (2022 graduate, captain) and Wesley Zolin (2022 graduate) were All-FCIAC Third Team selections. Brendan Frost (2022 graduate), rising senior Adam Kim and John Scarlata, who also graduated last month, were each All-FCIAC Honorable Mention selections.
