
Greenwich Academy’s soccer team has begun its season in stellar fashion, posting victories against Masters School and King School and dueling neighborhood foe Greenwich Country Day School to a draw.
GA started its 2022 season with an FAA game road game against Greenwich Country Day School on Sept. 10. Chloe Huh registered a goal, while Lola Tirabassi had an assist for the Gators.
Against Masters on Sept. 13, GA earned a tough 3-2 win. Tirabassi tallied Greenwich Academy’s first goal, which was set up by Winnie Welch. Tirabassi then scored off a penalty kick for GA’s second goal. Ellie Burdick capped the scoring with a goal off a Tirabassi assist.
Thursday, Greenwich Academy traveled to King in Stamford and returned home with a 4-1 triumph. Maddie Whidden scored off an assist from Burdick for the team’s first tally. Molly Moore netted a goal off a Tirabassi pass, then Winnie Welch scored, also off a Tirabassi assist.
Sofia Salazar added a goal off a Mia Wilson pass. Greenwich Academy (2-0-1) is in action today at noon against visiting Rye Country Day School.
