
Greenwich High School’s volleyball team concluded a successful week with a 3-1 victory over visiting Westhill today in an FCIAC match.
The Cardinals went 3-0 this week, as they also defeated Bridgeport Central and Danbury. Today, the Cardinals topped Westhill by set scores of 24-26, 25-16, 25-15, 25-17.
Senior outside hitter Maggie Saleeby tallied 13 kills, 15 digs and three aces to lead Greenwich, which won its fourth straight match. Katherine Ford, also a senior outside hitter, posted 13 kills, 10 digs and four aces to also power the surging Cardinals.
Junior libero Hayley Dionis notched 22 digs and five aces, while setter Lucia Spanjol kept the offense moving, registering 41 assists and three aces for the victors.
Sophomore Alina Sarkissian added six kills, six digs and two blocks for Greenwich, which has a busy upcoming week. The Cardinals visit Wilton Monday, before hosting St. Joseph Wednesday, Masuk Thursday and Stamford on Friday.
