
It’s on to the semifinals for the Sacred Heart Greenwich volleyball team.
The second-seeded Tigers swept seventh-seeded Hopkins School in the quarterfinal-round of the FAA Volleyball Tournament on Monday at Sacred Heart Greenwich.
Sacred Heart, which sports a 10-1 record in the FAA, hosts third-seeded St. Luke’s School (9-2) in Wednesday’s FAA semifinals at 4 p.m.
The Tigers defeated Hopkins by set scores of 25-13, 25-8, 25-19. Grace Gapen registered 11 kills, three aces, three assists and four digs to help spark SHG.
Emilia Bernal tallied 31 assists, seven digs and three kills, while Martina Bernal posted 13 digs, eight kills and five aces for the Tigers. Also pacing Sacred Heart Greenwich were Kaitlin Robinson (seven kills, four digs, four blocks, one ace), Josephine Prinz (six kills, one block) and Jane Murphy (five kills).
The winner of the Sacred Heart-St. Luke’s semifinal matchup will play in Saturday’s FAA Tournament final.
