Brunswick School’s wrestling team earned 10 wins by pinfall en route to a registering a resounding 67-12 win over visiting Avon Old Farms School in a match held on Wednesday.
The Bruins’ pins in their home-opener came from Christian Yanoti, Matias DeBono, Quinn McGraw, Ethan Phelps, Michael Accetta, Enzo Vera, Carlo Tucci, William MacGillivray, Emil Sogaard-Srikrishnan, and Michael Marini.
Jack Degl earned a hard-fought 4-2 decision in a 150-pound match, while Asher Benn (144-pound) earned a 15-3 major decision for the Bruins.
Long-time Brunswick head coach Coach Tim Ostrye noted that it was a “good start. We are young in the season with a long way to go.”
Additionally, Brunswick (1-0) won all five of its junior varsity matchups.
The Bruins will travel to Avon Old Farms School on Saturday for four dual meets. Brunswick will face Hopkins School, Northfield Mount Hermon, Trinity-Pawling School an opponent to be determined.
