Brunswick finished third in the team standings out of 22 teams at the Battle on the Bay tournament hosted by Tabor Academy on Saturday.
Patrick O’Donahue, a sophomore, was the lone Bruin finalist, pinning his way to the finals of the 122-pound bracket, where he placed second.
Four Brunswick wrestlers showed their grit after losing a match, wrestling back to finish third in their respective weight classes. Junior Michael Accetta (132-pound), senior Enzo Vera (138-pound), sophomore Jack Degl (150) and senior co-captain William MacGillivray (165) each placed third in their weight division for the Bruins.
Additionally, Michael Marini, freshman, (215-pound) placed fourth, while sophomore Emil Sogaard-Srikrishnan (175) took sixth for Brunswick.
Northfield Mount Hermon won the team title at the Battle of the Bay tournament (234 points) and Belmont Hill School (176) was the runner-up. Brunswick finished third (130.5 points), while Choate Rosemary Hall (123.5) and St. Sebastian’s rounded out the tournament’s top-five teams.
