
Brunswick School’s tennis team recently completed a stellar regular season, finishing with a strong 6-1 record in the FAA and a 9-5 mark overall.
The Bruins’ 6-1 FAA record put them in a first-place tie with Hopkins School and Greens Farms Academy. Brunswick’s lone FAA loss was to Hopkins, while Greens Farms lost to the Bruins. Brunswick lost to GFA in a non-league match on Thursday, prior to beginning action in the FAA Championships.

Coached by Ryan Abraham, the Bruins are currently competing in the FAA Championships, which began yesterday at Greens Farms Academy in Westport. The FAA Championships continue tomorrow, also at Greens Farms Academy.
Brunswick closed out the regular season this week with victories against Rye Country Day School on Monday, Taft School on Tuesday and Greenwich Country Day School on Wednesday.
The Bruins registered 6-1 victories against all three FAA opponents this week.

Against Taft in Watertown on Tuesday, Will Monahan of the Bruins was victorious at No. 1 singles against Keyondre Clark, 7-5, 6-3. At No. 2 singles, Caleb Zimmerman of Brunswick posted a 6-3, 6-2 win over Charles Levi.
Santos Gunnigham gave the Bruins a victory at third singles, topping Taft’s Lachlan Abbott in a hard-fought match, 6-3, 2-6, 10-5.

In the No. 4 singles match, Johnny Riehl was edged by Shane Mettler, 6-4, 3-6, 4-10, in a three-setter. Jack Sieg took a 6-2, 6-3 decision from Taft’s Thompson Knight at No. 5.
Rounding out singles play for Brunswick was Sebastian Moulle-Berteaux, who beat Spencer Lovie, 7-5, 6-3.

In doubles action, Monahan/Sieg defeated Levi/Abbott 8-1, at No. 2, while Riehl/Moulle-Berteaux won their match at No. 3, 8-3.
Against Greenwich Country Day, Zimmerman was victorious at first singles, 6-4, 6-2, while Gunningham was a 6-1, 6-2 winner at No. 2 for the Bruins.

Sieg notched a 6-1, 6-1 triumph at third singles and Moulle-Berteaux and Rowan Glanville won in three sets at first doubles, 6-3, 3-6, 10-6. At second doubles, Brunswick’s Will Ewald/Kai Le posted a 6-3, 6-3 win and at No. 3, Thomas Ewald/Neel Behringer earned a 7-6 (4), 6-2 victory.

Following tomorrow’s FAA Championships, Brunswick will test its skills at the NEPSAC Championships, which is scheduled for Saturday.
