Sacred Heart Greenwich lacrosse team ends season with decisive win against Phillips Exeter Academy in Prep Invitational; Tigers end with 16-1 record

After rolling to victory against Dexter Southfield School in the first game of the Prep Invitational, the Sacred Heart Greenwich lacrosse team concluded its dynamic 2023 season with a 15-5 victory against Phillips Exeter Academy at the Prep Invitational on Sunday.

Senior attack Karina Sethi closed her Tigers career by recording three goals and one assist against Phillips Exeter Academy. Junior midfielder Payton Sfreddo registered two goals and two assists, while senior attack Kelly Haggerty had two goals and one assist for Sacred Heart.

Junior midfielder Kaitlin Robinson tallied twice, while junior midfielder Maggie Bacigalupo had one goal and two assists for the victors. Wowie Walker, a junior, added one goal and two assists, while sophomore Daphne Fallon had a goal for SHG, which also received a goal from Ryan Hodge and an assist from Ava Lillis.

Senior Laura O’Connor made six saves in her final game in goal for the Tigers, who beat Dexter Southfield School in the opening game of the Prep Invitational, 12-3.

Sacred Heart ended the season ranked No. 9 in the nation in the USA/Nike Lacrosse High School National Rankings. They also are the No. 1-ranked team in the NEPSAC.

“It was really a special group,” Sacred Heart co-head coach Sharon Robinson said. “They were so much fun to coach and we had so much talent. And they work hard.”
