Kristin Riggs, Kayla Anderson and Sophia Sergio each received All-FCIAC awards after producing impressive performances for the Greenwich High School basketball team during its 2021 season.
Riggs, a junior point guard, recently concluded her third season as a member of the Cardinals’ varsity team. She was an All-FCIAC Second Team selection. Riggs led the team in scoring and efficiently helped run the team’s offense from her point guard position. Among her season highlights was a 19-point performance in Greenwich’s Senior Day victory against Stamford and a 17-point effort in a triumph over Westhill.
Riggs, who served as one of the Cardinals’ captains, will be among the squad’s returning players next season.

Anderson, also a three-year member of the varsity team, was a consistent performer at the power forward position for the Cardinals. She was among the team’s leaders in rebounding and blocked shots. She was a 2021 All-FCIAC Honorable Mention Selection.
Like Riggs, Anderson filled the role as a junior captain during the Cardinals’ 2021 season. Anderson provided scoring from the low post and displayed a solid shooting touch from the perimeter.
She also returns next season as one of the captains and should help solidify the forward position.

Sergio, a sophomore, sparked the Cardinals on both ends of the court in her first varsity season. She emerged as a 3-point shooting threat and provided consistent scoring throughout the season, while playing solid defense.
Along with Riggs, Sergio will help pace Greenwich’s backcourt during its 2021-2022 season.
