Westhill used a seven-run second inning and a seven-run third inning to post a 15-11 win against Greenwich in an FCIAC softball game on Friday.
The Cardinals took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning, then the Vikings went ahead 7-2 in the top of the second inning. After Greenwich tied the score at 7-7 with a five-run second inning, Westhill took the lead for good with a seven-run third inning.
Senior catcher Olivia McClammy went 2 for 2 with a home run, double and two RBIs to pace Greenwich’s offense. The Cardinals had nine hits for the game. Chloe Smith, a senior, was 2 for 3 with a double, single and two RBIs.
Senior Kayla Darling, a senior, had a double and two RBIs for Greenwich. Darling and Kate D’Andrea each pitched for Greenwich. The Cardinals are hosting Westhill today at 11 a.m., then will play host to Ridgefield on Monday at 4:30 p.m.
