The Greenwich High School girls golf team improved its record to 4-2 with a 181-244 win against Danbury on Monday in an FCIAC match held at Richter Park Golf Course.
The Cardinals were paced by freshman Caroline McShea, who earned medalist honors by shoot a 7-over-par 42 over nine holes at the No. 1 spot. Charlotte Langhorne, also a freshman, shot a 45 for Greenwich, which has won three straight matches.
Senior co-captain Sarah Peng carded a 46 for Greenwich, while teammate Bella Crasto, a freshman, had a round of 48 in the victory. Danbury’s was led by Kayla Creegan’s round of 57.
Greenwich visits Trumbull Wednesday at Tashua Knolls, then hosts Staples on Thursday at Griffth E. Harris Golf Course in Greenwich.
SOFTBALL
Greenwich lost to a powerful Trumbull team, 10-0, on Monday in Trumbull.
The Eagles scored two runs in the first inning, three runs in the third inning, one in the fourth and added four in the fifth inning. Trumbull finished the game with 16 hits. Senior Kayla Darling was Greenwich’s starting pitcher.
Kate Friedman, Olivia McClammy and Darling each hit a single for the Cardinals. Greenwich is in action again on Wednesday against host Danbury.
