Greenwich High girls lacrosse team downed Norwalk to improve to 7-2

The Greenwich High School girls lacrosse team defeated Norwalk on Friday in an FCIAC matchup.

Greenwich High School’s girls lacrosse team extended its winning streak to four games and upped its record to 7-2 with a 19-1 triumph against host Norwalk in an FCIAC game held on Friday.

Sophomore Cece Tauber scored four goals and gathered four ground balls for Greenwich, which received a hat trick from senior midfielder Grace Collier. Junior midfielder Noey Johnson tallied two goals and two assists in the winning effort.

“It was a total team effort and there was a lot of playing time for players,” Greenwich coach Tara Clough said.

Freshman midfielder Emma Abbazia had one goal, one assist and five ground balls, while senior attack Delaney Roth posted one goal and collected four ground balls for the Cardinals. Sophomore midfielder Sophia Neitzell registered one goal and one assist for Greenwich, which visited Fairfield Ludlowe today and hosts Danbury on Tuesday.
