
Brunswick School’s crew team opened its fall season with impressive performances at the Head of the Housatonic Regatta on the Housatonic River on Saturday.
The day began for the Bruins with the single sculls. Brunswick sent two singles to the start line: senior Will Baxter and senior Robert Jacobson. Baxter claimed the bronze medal, while Jacobson finished out of a field of 16 scullers.
Brunswick’s successful day ended with another medal finish for Brunswick in the 1V 4+ race. The crew of stroke Peter Kapp, a senior co-captain, 3-seat Henry Andren, a sophomore, 2-seat Jimmy Cabot, a junior, bow Ruffin Bryant (junior) and coxswain Max Konzerowsky (senior) earned silver medals (1st among schools) rowing in a field of 19 crews.
Additionally, in the 2V 8+ event, Brunswick finished 12th of 28 crews. In the 1V 8+ event, Brunswick was 16thand in the 2V 4+ event, Brunswick placed 11th.
