Greenwich Academy clinches FAA cross country regular season title by winning seven-team meet; Sacred Heart places 3rd

Greenwich Academy went 6-0 at an FAA meet held at Brunswick School on Wednesday and secured the FAA regular season title, finishing with a record of 22-2.

Behind sophomore Maddy Lee’s first-place finish, Greenwich Academy finished with a team score of 40 points on Wednesday. Hopkins School placed second in the team standings (40), followed by Sacred Heart Greenwich (57). Greenwich Country Day School was sixth (148).

Lee won the 3.1-mile race for GA with a time of 19:49.30. Sacred Heart sophomore Ava Lillis finished second, posting a time of 20:16.00. Ava Butz, a Greenwich Academy senior, was third (20:30.90) and Maggie Finn of Sacred Heart, a freshman took seventh (21:19.10.

Grace Sullivan, a sophomore, had a 10th-place finish for GA, clocking in at 21:58.60. Anne Finn, a junior, was 11th for the Tigers in 22:02.70. Emily Goodman (junior, 22:25.50) and Emily Greenhaw (senior, 22:30.40) were 14th and 15th, respectively for Greenwich Academy, while teammate Katie McIntyre, a sophomore, was 20th (22:50.30).

Katherine May (22:57.90, junior), Jacquelyn Monahan (23:04.40, junior) and Olivia Berkery (23:16.70, senior) were 21st, 22nd and 24th, respectively, for Sacred Heart, while freshman Poppy Huffman of Greenwich Academy was 29th (23:45.70).

Claire Miller (Sacred Heart, senior, 23:53.40) finished in 31st place. Casey Duval had a personal-record time of 25:21 for GA.

For Greenwich Country Day School, junior Erin Dixon finished in 16th place, registering a time of 22:38.10. Natalie Simpson, a freshman, was 17th for Greenwich Country Day, clocking in at 22:40.40.
