Greenwich boys lacrosse team cruises past Westhill to improve its record to 4-2

Bryce Metalios had another big scoring game for Greenwich, tallying five times in a win against Westhill.

Getting goals from nine different players, Greenwich’s boys lacrosse team upended Westhill, 15-2, in an FCIAC game held on Tuesday in Stamford.

Senior attack Bryce Metalios had another dominant game, registering a game-high five goals, while adding two assists for the Cardinals (4-2). Freshman Mike Brescia had one goal and three assists, while senior midfielder James Pilc notched two goals and one assist for Greenwich, which has won two straight games.

Senior midfielder Flynn Milledge scored twice, senior midfielder Quinn Warwick had one goal and two assist and junior Brian Collins contributed one goal and one assist in the winning effort.

Andrew Borelli and George Welkner had one goal apiece, while Colin Zeller assisted on a goal for the Cards. Warwick was great at the faceoff-X, winning 14 of 16 faceoffs. Charlie Zola, Kevin Keaveney and Shea Madden combined for nine saves in goal for the victors.

“It was a good team win with over 35 players getting into the game,” Greenwich coach Bobby Lutz said. “Bryce added 5 in the first half so we got to rest him a little.  Quinn got us possessions and the defense played great.”

Greenwich hosts Brien McMahon tomorrow at 5 p.m.
