
Winning all three doubles matches, the Greenwich High School girls tennis team topped Fairfield Warde, 4-3, in an FCIAC match held on Monday, a victory that improved its record to 3-1.
At first doubles, senior Courteney Sheets and junior Julia Tamis sparked the Cardinals, posting a 6-4, 6-1 win over Jessica Han and Rhiannon Sizer, 6-4, 6-1.
Second doubles saw Cardinals sophomore Emily Weinstein and freshman Emme Pecorin team up for a 6-2, 6-0 victory against Warde’s Karla Nahme and Karina McMahon.

Juniors Mei McGuinness and Valentina Rivano were in top form at third doubles for the Cardinals, registering a 6-1, 6-1 triumph against Warde’s Megan Baron and Gwen Kardos.
In singles action, the Mustangs received a victory at No. 1 singles from senior Jessica Broder, who defeated GHS junior Ivanna Diez de Bonilla, 6-1, 6-3.

At second singles, Warde freshman Elisa Tunaru was victorious, edging Greenwich sophomore Kyra Dybas, 7-5, 6-1. The Cardinals’ singles victory came from Malena Schraa. A sophomore, Schraa won her match against senior Ella Smith, 6-1, 6-1.
Warde junior Ellie Mannello took her match against Cardinals freshman Yume Inagawa, 6-3, 6-3, at the fourth singles spot.
